Utterly exhausted after overexerting himself, Riku makes his way to his temporary living space— a quaint little house near Merlin's residence. Only bothering with a quick shower and a snack beforehand, Riku collapses into his bed. While his jog (later turned into a full-on sprint) didn't help distract him from his thoughts, it did tire him out to the point where he fell asleep immediately.
Riku wakes up with a start. Ever since his Mark of Mastery, he hasn't been dreaming much, if at all. But that night, he actually dreamed! Though he finds himself unable to remember anything else aside from the fact that he actually had a dream. Stuck at an impasse, Riku gets out of bed and decides to have an early morning.
I barely ate anything last night, he thinks to himself as his stomach rumbles.
Barely managing to keep his eyes open, he sets about making coffee for himself while snacking on a cereal bar, promising himself that he'd make something more substantial to eat after fully waking up. "Deciding" (grabbing what was closest) on a couple of slices of buttered toast and some nuts, Riku quickly eats his breakfast, eager to get away from the awkward silence of his home.
